ZOFíA

The title of the new performance, Zofia is a derivative of Cold Sophie; last of the five ice saints. Zofia refers to the capital of former Soviet bloc country Bulgaria. The city owes its name to Saint Sofia, who was killed with her three daughters Fides, Spes and Caritas, (Faith, Hope and Love) by the martyred dead.

"Where are we? Disappeared, she told me..", and she pressed her nose against the window. The German porn doll Lilly spoke hesitantly about her obsessions. She told already too much, at least that’s what she thought. She wanted to admit to her aggressor how much she longed for it, but she choked.

Cliché images of complex androgynous types and stereotypes move in a field full of (dead) obsessions, criminal hostilities and false sentimentality. Like lust objects with narcissistic tendencies and other compulsives, they have their excessive self-confidant personal confessions. Zofia, the new tragic-comic T.r.a.s.h.-presentation, is a diabolical quest for identity and common ideologies. An aesthetic in a setting that evokes associations with Eastern Atmospheres during the time of the Iron Curtain. Parodying on imago’s, the model, concept, the façade of these days.
