'Mein Liebling: The Complete Story' is composed out of five seperate performances or chapters that now merge into an eveninglenght performance. In the past few months, fragments of the individual performances/chapters were shown during Copenhagen Art Week as part of the DREAM COPENHAGEN project, Incubate Festival, the opening of Dansmaand Tilburg, November Music 2016, and at MU/Artspace and Hilvariastudio's.
Mein Liebling is a series of layered performances with (live) music by the bandmembers of DAAU (Antwerp, Belgium). Intimate and recognisable stories about the brittle beauty of love with a central role for the woman. Women, rigid role models and subsequent life dilemma's: the choice between here or there, ourselves or the other and between holding on or letting go. Inspired by film-noir and performed by four female performers, T.r.a.s.h. creates a story of multiple personalities. Seemingly incompatible identities fuse together. Mein Liebling zooms in on rigid role patterns and clichés. Familiar portrets, sometimes tragic, but above all hopeful, raw and realistic.
