FADE; 4 sketches
photography: © Paul van Weert During the citywalk in Tilburg, organised by L'Avventura, T.r.a.s.h. is showing behind the windows of a building four tableaux. 'FADE; 4 sketches' tells in eight minutes with small shattered fragments a story about two girls and a middle-aged man. The story of two young girls who want to take destiny into their own hands and therefore commit a terrible act. In the narrative and the scenery there’s an exploration of the morbid and disturbing by an omnipresence of death, accompanied by its attendent signs and symbols.. The performance is shown by short performative excerpts placed in a few sureel clinical boxes/units. The overall subject of the yearly Bouwhuis-project, (the research-lab to prepare the bigger T.r.a.s.h.-performances.) is ‘human failure in the dissapearance of identity' and 'the continuous pressure from the past on our emotional well-being'’. T.r.a.s.h. concentrates with the creation of 'FADE; 4 sketches' in particular on the subthemes of violence in everyday reality and the attempted escape of women concerning female subdominance. |
